On Monday, June 23, a press release was issued by Bell and Howell and Versa Capital Management, who owns Bell and Howell, announcing the spin-off of BCC Software as a stand-alone company. BCC Software is back! The fact is, BCC Software never left.
From its humble beginnings in 1978; through its explosive growth in 1996; a purchase by Böwe Bell and Howell in 2005; a restructure in 2011; and now once again as a stand-alone company; BCC Software has stayed committed to our customers and the mailing industry. That dedication and commitment, and our How Can We Help attitude will continue to be reflected by each and every one of the 75 associates from our Rochester, NY office.
As nostalgic as it is for many of us to reflect on BCC Software’s long history, it is equally important to also recognize that this is a new day. BCC Software has changed much in the past several years and it is perhaps best to view BCC today as a startup company with an impressive history. With the financial backing of Versa Capital Management, who still owns BCC Software, we will continue to make key investments in growth areas such as international address correction; household data append options; list rental services; CASS Certified™ solutions on Linux and AIX; and full-service Intelligent Mail® barcode support.
Our Data Marketing Services has expanded rapidly these past several months, especially with the launch of Go Data™ – a one of a kind, 100% web-based solution for on-demand address quality services. Many of our BCC Mail Manager™ customers are also leveraging Go Data solutions as an easy way to rent lists of names and addresses as well as accessing expanded suppression services. We showcased Go Data at the recent Internet Retailers Conference in Chicago, IL and saw a lot of interest in access to this depth and breadth of data quality solutions.
We are also very excited about our Datavolve™ solution – the evolution in on premise data quality for Windows, Linux, and soon AIX platforms. Our recent benchmarks indicate that Datavolve is not only extremely fast (tens of millions of records per hour), but also highly accurate. We passed our USPS® CASS & NCOALink® tests on the first try! When compared to other competitive certified solutions, we coded more addresses and found most of the addresses changes. Because of its extensible architecture, we can implement it as a USPS CASS Certified™ batch solution or as a transactional solution anywhere data is entered, edited, or needs to be enhanced.
New services and solutions are certainly important, but it is our dedication to live and knowledgeable customer support where we are proudest and where we believe BCC Software will still continue to stand apart from our competitors. We surveyed our customers earlier this year and the responses were overwhelming. Customer Support is essential to our customers and they value what we’ve been providing! We can assure you that as BCC Software continues to grow, now as a stand-alone company, that live and knowledgeable customer support will always remain an important cornerstone of this company.
