BCC Software is excited to announce that beginning April 2017, all products will be delivered through electronic fulfillment or eFulfillment. This is a safe, secure, fast way to access your software updates.
Between February 2017 and April 2017, all customers will receive both physical shipments and eFulfillment access. This grace period allows you to become comfortable with the eFulfillment process.
After April 2017, customers must opt-out of eFulfillment in order to continue receiving physical software update discs. To learn more, or opt-out, please contact 800.337.0442.
Benefits of eFulfillment
eFulfillment grants you immediate fulfillment of products when the are released. There's no longer a waiting period while they ship. This is especially helpful during a rate case or for other time-sensitive releases.
- It prevents problems with lost or damaged DVDs.
- It gives you the ability to re-download products.
- Easily install software into new systems.
- Recover core software product easily if your facility is damaged or inaccessible.
The eFulfillment process is simple and easy, and many customers already choose this method to update their products.
When software updates are now available and your next update will be eFulfillment only. BCC Software administrators will post to the User Forum, which will generate an email for subscribers to that forum.
- To register for notifications, click on User Forum tab in the top navigation. Under “General Forums” click on the update notification for the product your company owns (i.e. BCC Mail Manager Update Notification).
- In the right-hand corner, click on “Subscribe To This Forum.”
Once you receive notification about the product update availability, in the Customer Portal, click on “My Profile” in the top navigation. The option “My Product Downloads” will appear on the left-hand menu. Once inside your product download page, only your BCC Software products will be available. Click the “download” link to begin.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will we still get the same number of updates?
Yes, all products will still be updated bimonthly. With eFulfillment you no longer have to wait for a physical CD; when the update is ready, you'll be able to access it.
How can I get help if I have trouble?
BCC Software, as always, will support you during this transition. You can get help through our Customer Support team online or by phone.
What if I still want physical shipments?
BCC Software will continue to send physical shipments of updates through April. After that, there will be a fee to continue physical shipments. You must contact 800.337.0442 to opt-out.
What is the fee?
The fee to stay with physical shipments of BCC Software products will be $300 per product group annually. This fee helps cover the rising costs of shipping discs. After April 2017, all customers choosing to stay with physical shipments will be billed a pro-rated fee covering the remainder of their renewal.
Is this any different than my physical DVD?
No, other than the process of mounting the image.
I don’t have software to mount an image, what should I be looking for?
Any software product that allows an ISO of UDF image to be mounted for installation. There are many sources – some free, some paid.
BCC Software does not provide a specific software recommendation since there are many products available. Read more about this process in the “Downloading Images” guide.
How long will the file download take?
A typical full update is 3.6 GB. Based on the speed of your internet connection, here's what you can expect:
- 100 Mbit/s Connection (common in many offices) – 5 minutes
- 24 Mbit/s Connection (common shared business class service) – 20 minutes
- 15 Mbit/s Connection (common residential class high speed internet) – 35 minutes
