BCC Software is continuing to reinvest in our technology platforms in response to evolution in available technology, your needs, and the industry as a whole. Later this quarter we will be releasing a brand new product that will open up new doors to automate and streamline workflows. You can anticipate a larger announcement with full details, but as a valued member of the BCC Software community we wanted to take this opportunity to share a brief preview with you.
Here is a preview of the top three things to know:
- It’s an API. If you’re unfamiliar, an Application Program Interface (API) is aptly defined by webopedia.com as “a set of routines, protocols, and tools for building software applications. The API specifies how software components should interact and APIs are used when programming graphical user interface (GUI) components. A good API makes it easier to develop a program by providing all the building blocks. A programmer then puts the blocks together.” In the context of BCC Software, this means we’re getting ready to provide you a way to seamlessly integrate our technology into any workflow.
- It’s modular. As the definition of an API suggests, there are multiple building blocks, or modules, to a complete API. We will be releasing ours in stages, allowing customers to take advantage of functionality as it is completed. The presort API will be released later this quarter, with additional modules to follow.
- It’s scalable. The API is highly configurable, allowing it to be adjusted to the demands of any size business.
This new API is not a replacement for BCC Mail Manager. Rather, it’s an extension of our suite of technology tools, aimed to meet the increasing demand for integration friendly products backed by our team of industry, technology, and support experts.
