Director of Architecture Shawn Baldwin Awarded Prestigious IDEAlliance Circle of Excellence Award for Leadership in Transformative Mail.XML Specification
At last month’s Print Distribution 2015 conference Shawn Baldwin, our Director of Architecture, was presented IDEAlliance’s Circle of Excellence Award in recognition of his industry contributions for his leadership in development of the Mail.XML specification. Shawn has been with us at BCC Software since 1995, and has served as the IDEAlliance chair for Mail.XML since 2011.
BCC Software President Chris Lien was on hand for the award presentation and shared his thoughts, “Shawn’s dedication to the mailing industry and IDEAlliance is evidenced in his active participation and leadership in numerous IDEAlliance workgroups and specification committees including Mail.XML, Mail.dat, Mailing Software Development Group, and the Postal Operations and Technology Committee. He has been active in the mailing industry for well over a decade and we are pleased to have him as part of the BCC Software team.”
In presenting the award, David Steinhardt, President and CEO of IDEAlliance echoed Chris’ comments, “Shawn has been instrumental since the work of Mail.XML began in 2004 with an XML application for transportation messaging within PostalOne! and our first published specification in 2006. Mail.XML now has a suite of extensive business mailing transactions. Over many years, he is a singular leader guiding the development of Mail.XML with the U.S. Postal Service. On behalf of IDEAlliance, I thank Shawn and BCC Software for their support of best practices in the mailing industry.”
