January Tech Tip – Updating Your Software

January 01, 2015

There are many good reasons to not wait until the last minute to update your software.

One reason is to have the most current USPS® CASS data. Waiting to update your CASS data means that you will be encoding your list with older, possibly outdated, address information. BCC sends updated CASS directories to BCC Mail Manager™ users every other month, and the USPS updates the CASS files on a monthly basis. Monthly CASS updates are available as an option for Mail Manager users. For more information, contact our Sales department at 800.337.0442.

Another reason is that the USPS has implemented the monthly Table Release program. If you are running an outdated version of BCC Mail Manager, you may not be able to load the newest tables. New tables are published monthly, and details of each release are included in the Release Notes posted on the Software Update page of the BCC Software Customer Portal.

By updating your software as soon as possible, it also ensures that if something unexpected happens during the installation process, we can respond to your needs in a timely manner. This can prevent delays or downtime in your production process.

Finally, the latest software update also includes software changes and functionality enhancements. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please call Customer Support at 800.624.5234.
