Tech- Tip – Avoid Unnecessary DMS Charges

This is to serve as a friendly reminder of necessary steps to take when needing to cancel a Data Marketing Services (DMS) job, sent through Mail Manager. It is good practice, when needing to cancel a job, to notify the DMS department to prevent the job from being processed and you incurring charges. We recommend the following steps when needing to cancel a job:

  1. Contact the DMS department at 1 -800-337-0372 or dataservices@bccsoftware.com , with your Customer Number and Job ID readily available.
  2. Your list will remain in Read-Only mode until you cancel the job within the Mail Manager software. The upload option used to send the job will determine which steps are needed to cancel the process.
    • Send the file later or Send the file via the Internet now
      • Go to Postal > BCC Data Services > Cancel job, Click OK to contacting Data Services > select the job > click OK
  • Send the file via the Internet now and process return job
    • Cancel the background process by right-clicking on progress bar > Cancel > Click OK to cancel
    • Go to Postal > BCC Data Services > Cancel job, Click OK to contacting Data Services > select the job > click OK

Exceptions to the rule are jobs that were not uploaded and/or already processed by BCC Software, LLC.  For further information contact the DMS department at 1–800–337-0372.
