Tech Tip: New Year, New Rates
The New Year is here, and with it comes the January 2017 Postage Statements from the United States Postal Service. It is always a little tricky to try to figure out exactly when you should update your software. Update too soon or too late and you can run the risk of having your mail rejected or at the very least, held up by the acceptance clerks. A good rule of thumb is to not install the update until you are ready for the new statements, which go into effect on January 22, 2017. In other words, if you are preparing a mailing for any date prior to January 22, do not update your software.
For those mailers who submit their documentation electronically, PostalOne! is accepting mailings using the new forms and rates as of January 8.
The update for the new postage statements is included on the December BCC Mail Manager DVD, which shipped late last week. It is also available for download from the Support tab on our Customer Portal. When you install this update, only the new postage statements are available in your software.
