A Glimpse inside Proprietary Change of Address (PCOA)
On average, 40% of movers do not file a change of address notification with the USPS. These movers do not exist in the NCOALink database, making it impossible for the process to find moves for these recipients.
This is where Proprietary Change of Address or PCOA is beneficial being that information is captured through other sources such as magazine subscriptions, credit card companies, and various other databases. The process will attempt to update moves going back 60 months, and supply additional information such as mailability score, move date and type of move. Also, no further paperwork is required.
PCOA is not an approved USPS MOVE Update option, however, it can be used along with NCOALink to catch additional updates and enhance your mail’s deliverability.
