On July 16, House Representatives Stephen Lynch (D-MA-8) and Rodney Davis (R-IL-13) introduced a resolution, H.Res.993 – expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that Congress should take all appropriate measures to ensure that the United States Postal Service® remains an independent establishment of the Federal Government and is not subject to privatization. This action comes in response to the White House’s proposal to reorganize the Government that includes a plan to take steps toward USPS® privatization. You can get more insight on this here.
To date, the resolution has 62 cosponsors and has been referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
