USPS Reaches Deal with Largest Union

The Postal Service and the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) have reached a tentative agreement that will provide workers with a 3.5% pay increase over 4 1/2 years, while steadily increasing the percentage that union members must contribute toward health insurance plans.  This deal also stipulates that career employees hired before November 2010 cannot be laid off and limits postal worker reassignments to a maximum of 50 miles from their original location.
